Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 May 2026
These terms apply when you use Baghound — the desktop app (the "sniffer") and the website at app.baghound.app. Together they make up "the Service". By installing the sniffer or signing in to the website you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Baghound is operated as a sole trader by Skydraex (UK). Contact: baghoundsupport@gmail.com or the Baghound Discord server.
Eligibility
- You must have a valid Realm of the Mad God account in good standing with Deca Games / DECA Live Operations GmbH (the publisher of RotMG). Baghound is an unofficial third-party companion, not affiliated with or endorsed by Deca.
- You agree to use the Service only in ways permitted by these terms and by Deca's own RotMG Terms of Service.
What Baghound does
The desktop sniffer reads RotMG game packets on your local network — passively, the same way Wireshark would — and turns them into a useful in-app dashboard: loot logs, DPS meter, fame graph, dungeon stats, Discord posting, and so on. It never modifies the game, sends packets, or interacts with your RotMG account in any way that requires your password.
The website mirrors a portion of that data on a public profile so you and your friends can compare loot, characters, and performance.
Free tier and Baghound Pro
- Free tier: use the sniffer locally, view armouries and fame on the website, and see a teaser of any subscriber's profile. Your own collection / DPS / dungeon stats are kept locally only; they are not published.
- Baghound Pro (£5/month): unlocks full publishing and viewing — your data is synced to your public profile, and you can see other subscribers' full profiles.
- Free trial: every new account gets 14 days of Pro features. No payment information is collected for the trial; you choose whether to subscribe before or after it ends.
Subscriptions and billing
- Price: £5.00 GBP per month, billed monthly in advance.
- Trial honouring: if you subscribe while still in trial, your remaining trial days are honoured. For example, subscribing on day 2 of a 14-day trial means your first payment is taken 12 days later. Subscribing on day 14 means it's taken the same day.
- Payment processor: Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Currency: all charges are in GBP regardless of your location. Your bank converts to your local currency at its own rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee. We have no visibility into your bank's rate or fees.
- Cancellation: you can cancel anytime via the "Manage subscription" link in your profile, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro features until then.
- Refunds: we do not offer refunds for unused partial periods. If you experience a problem with the Service, email us and we'll work with you in good faith. Your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.
- Failed payments: Stripe will retry a few times. If recovery fails, your subscription transitions to cancelled and the website / sniffer revert to free-tier behaviour.
- Price changes: we may change the subscription price with at least 30 days' notice. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Your account
- One account per person. Sharing your sign-in code or session token with anyone else is a breach of these terms and may result in suspension.
- Your email address is your unique identifier — keep it accurate and accessible. If you lose access to it, contact us and we'll work with you to verify identity and move your subscription / data to a new address.
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure.
Your data and content
- You own the gameplay data you publish via Baghound — your collection log, characters, DPS history, fame, dungeon stats. By publishing it, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, display, and aggregate it for the purpose of running the Service.
- Your display name is shown publicly on your profile. Don't pick a name that impersonates someone else, violates Deca's RotMG ToS, or contains slurs / abuse. We may ask you to change it; repeated abuse may end in suspension.
- You can stop publishing at any time via the privacy toggles on your profile, by cancelling your subscription (which stops new uploads but preserves historical data), or by requesting deletion (which removes everything).
- By using the crowd-sourced sprite upload feature (which is on by default for subscribers), you grant us a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to store and serve the small game-art PNGs your sniffer contributes. These sprites contain no personal information; they are extracted from your local RotMG installation purely so the website can display proper boss icons.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- Modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the desktop sniffer in a way that bypasses the subscription system.
- Scrape the website or our worker API beyond normal browsing. Automated polling at high frequency, mass-harvesting of public profiles, or other abusive patterns may be blocked and result in suspension.
- Use Baghound in a way that violates Deca's RotMG ToS. Baghound is a passive observer; you remain responsible for your own conduct in-game.
- Attempt to access another user's account, exploit our systems, or disrupt the Service for other users.
Open-source acknowledgement
Baghound began as a fork of RealmShark and Tomato, both MIT-licensed. The fork's improvements and the subscription backend are our own work. Upstream copyright notices are preserved in the source.
Intellectual property
The Baghound name, logo, website design, and our original code are © Skydraex. "Realm of the Mad God", "RotMG", and all associated game assets are trademarks of their respective owners (currently Deca Games). Baghound is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Deca.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law. We make no guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with future RotMG updates.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the Service is capped at the greater of (a) £25, or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses (lost in-game items, lost time, lost data on third-party systems, etc.).
Nothing in these terms excludes liability we cannot exclude under UK law — including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
Termination
- By you: cancel your subscription via the Stripe portal, or request full account deletion by emailing us.
- By us: we may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or use the Service abusively. Where reasonable, we'll contact you first to resolve the issue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms over time. The updated version will be published on this page and the date at the top updated. Material changes will be announced on the Baghound Discord and via in-app notice; for subscription-affecting changes (price, features) we'll give at least 30 days' notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts — unless you are a consumer resident in a different jurisdiction, in which case you also benefit from the mandatory protections of that jurisdiction's law.
